Dear Visitor,

With the stay at home order from our Governor set in place to flatten the curve of virus cases in Minnesota set to expire on May 4.  We are hoping that he has set that date to coincide with the start of the tourism season, the fishing opener and will lift the order.  We all know that social distancing and all is working in Minnesota and we will need to continue practicing those requirements as we go forward.

With this, we continue to prepare for the season at Lykins Pinehurst Resort.  We are excited about the ice going off in the next week (hopefully) and moving forward with our spring work.  Our season gets off to a very slow start, so you early season vacationers will have only a few others vacationing with you.

With this in mind, the season will bring some necessary changes to keep you and us safe from the virus.  There are a couple of things that we plan to put in place this year to help us in our cleaning efforts to not spread the virus.

  • The first is that we are going to move our check out time to noon on Friday for the weekly reservations.  This will allow us to run the dishes through the dish washer and have time to thoroughly clean the cabin.

  • The other will be for us to not provide bed linens.  It would not be possible for us to clean all bedding including blankets, bed spreads and pillows after each stay.  The beds will have plastic mattress covers that we can wipe down with a disinfectant each week and mattress pads that will be cleaned after each stay by our laundry service.  Please bring sheets, blankets and pillows or sleeping bags for your stay.

  • Another thing would be that our paddle boat, kayak, and paddle boards will not be available for guest usage.

We would ask you to bring your own soaps, hand sanitizer and disinfectant spray etc that you feel are useful to protect against the virus.

As we move forward, we realize that these are major changes, but we hope you can see where the changes need to be done in order to bring you a clean, comfortable cabin.  We would ask that if you have been ill or have shown symptoms of the virus within 14 days of your arrival, please do not come.  This would include care givers or family members who have come in contact with the ill individual.

We will get through this and look forward to seeing many of you enjoying a vacation with us as scheduled.  If situation has changed and you are not able to make it this summer, we would be happy to push your deposit to a later time this summer or for next summer or refund deposit less a $50 fee.  Please let us know as soon as possible if your plans have changed or by June 1, 2020 at the latest.

Please give us a call or email if you have questions or concerns.  It is important to keep in mind where ever we end up with this virus; God will win.  May He continue to bless you and your family.

Sincerely,

Roger and Kathy Lykins
